WE ARE CONTINUING OUR PURSUE FOR JUSTICE WITH THE JUSTICE SHIP
The JUSTICE SHIP is beginning its' voyage with the initiative of a group of intelectuals (jury members).
We, as intelectuals, artists, journalists, authors and lawyers, will pursue justice with the JUSTICE SHIP which will harbour in different ports of Istanbul. The Justice Ship is an expression of the deep aspiration of the popular demand for justice, which is a bleeding wound in this country. Years before, Police Chief Director Mehmet Agar, stated to the painful wife of the assasinated journalist Ugur Mumcu, Guldal Mumcu that, “If a sole brick is pulled, the whole wall can fall”, but added that, “We can't do this, because the wall will fall atop of all of us.” The Justice Ship is the symbol of the justice demand of the people, the intelectuals, artists, lawyers, those aggreived of injustice and massacres. It is the expression of the demand that the assasins, the responsibles of the massacres should be tried.
We, as the suffered people and intelectuals, cannot stay silent against the injustices like the protection of the responsibles of the 12th of September coup d'etat with an article of the Constitution, like the torturers being acquitted by legal timeout, like that the massacre responsables and “One thousand operation” criminals kept out from being tried.
The Justice Ship will be a meaningful response to the ones who try to make the society forget the 1st of May 1977 massacre, Gazi, Sivas, Maras, Corum massacres, assasinated intelectuals, like Sabahattin Ali, Ugur Mumcu, Kemal Turkler, Abdi Ipekci, Musa Anter, Hrant Dink, scandals of Susurluk and Semdinli.
Symbolic trials will be held in the Justice Ship in Kadikoy, Bakirkoy, Bostancı, Besiktas ports of Istanbul, in the below noted dates. The names of the jury members are also noted below.
