protest israeli occupation and war crimes

By rafa, 16 February, 2009

To the Palestinian community of Hamburg – please forward this!

Dear friends,

In our work we meet many people who have fled from wars. That way is blocked for the people in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip blockade by Israel’s army has turned those people’s home country into a prison – a prison that was bombed and destroyed with the most modern of cruel weapons for three weeks.

’The worst action Israel has taken against the Palestinians in more than 40 years must not go unatoned. Instead of ingratiatingly declaring their solidarity and stressing Israel’s right to defend itself, thus legitimating the inhuman air attacks and other acts of war, our Foreign Minister, the EU quartet and the US government ought to call Israeli acts of war what they really are. That is, dehumanising, murderous acts that violate international law, acts against starving people who are almost defenceless and under occupation.
It is not the Hamas government, elected by the people, which should be summoned to the Court of War in The Hague. This should happen to the brutal occupants, the government of a radical Jewish state…’
We don’t want to add anything to this quote from Evelyn Hecht-Galinski, daughter of Heinz Galinski, the deceased former chairman of the Central Consistory of Jews in Germany (Zentralrat der Juden in Deutschland). Like you, we mourn for the victims of Israeli aggression.

WE DEMAND THAT THE POLITICIANS AND SOLDIERS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE BE CHARGED WITH CRIMES OF WAR AND CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY AT THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE!
WE DEMAND THAT THE GAZA STRIP BLOCKADE BE ENDED AT ONCE!
WE SUPPORT THE GROWING DEMAND FOR A BOYCOTT OF ISRAEL!
WE SUPPORT THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE AND THEIR RESISTANCE AGAINST OCCUPATION!
A FREE GAZA IN A FREE PALESTINE!
