International call to stop deportation from Netherlands to Angola!!!

By azadi, 10 September, 2014

DEPORTATION OF ANTONIO TO ANGOLA WAS CANCELED AGAIN !!!
INTERNATIONAL CALL OUT FOR ACTION USING PHONE OR INTERNET
TO STOP DEPORTATION BEFORE TOMORROW (11th of September 2014)

This is a call out for an mail- (callcenter.nl@brusselsairlines.com)
- and phone (phonenumbers below, different languagesspeaking spokesmen)
- action to ask Brussels Airlines authorities to stop this deportation.

Tomorrow, thursday september 11th 2014, a political refugee will be deported from Brussels, this is the second attempt to deport him. Last friday we succeed to avoid the first deportation from Amsterdam to Angola. Antonio has been in detention in Rotterdam. We have visited him, he is completely integrated in the Dutch society and language. He has 3 daughters and a wife, all with Dutch passports. Antonio is angry, scared, confused, and above all worried about his 3 daughters, aged 14, 18 and 4, who were born and raised in the Netherlands.

He told an activist from Occupy Rotterdam that he asked the IND [Dutch immigration authorities] if he could say goodbye to his daughters and his wife, but they refused. “They only recognise me as a criminal,” he said.

Antonio has been in detention for 10 months and Angola will be his death sentence.

He was 19 when he refused to take part any longer in the Angolan civil war. He deserted, choosing the life of a deserter over that of a soldier.

Antonio came to the Netherlands and sought asylum. Soon after arriving here, he fell in love with Futi, and within 1 year they had their first daughter together. He was very happy; he eagerly learned Dutch and made big plans for him and his wife. They had two more daughters.

But then Antonio learned that the IND has “lost” his asylum application from 1999. And his second asylum application was rejected because the Marechaussee [Dutch military/border police] could not confirm if his passport was genuine or fake.

He was deported, handed over to the Angolan authorities, taken to prison and tortured, being shot twice in the leg. Luckily, with help he managed to escape and return to the Netherlands.

He asked for asylum for a third time, but nothing could move the IND to look closely at his case again: the torture, the letters from his daughters to MPs [Kamerleden]; petitions from neighbours, teachers, pupils and their parents; the recognition of his passport by the Angolan consultate. Nothing helped.

But it is not too late. We can stop his deportation and his death sentence. We must make it clear to KLM that we do not tolerate this!
