Thüringen strikes again
Zella-Mehlis refugees get what they fought for: Flats for all
After the successful intervention in Erfurt against the deportation of Habibi to Hungary one week ago, this week signifies another success for the struggle of the refugees, as the Lager in Zella-Mehlis will be closed and all refugees get flats!
The Break Isolation-campaign has been very much linked to the struggle for closing the Zella-Mehlis isolation Lager and demanding flats for everyone.
One and a half years after the high peak of the actions and a continuous documentation work until today, the private company terminated the contract and the local parliament voted for closure.
Two years ago, the community started to strongly insist on the closure of four specific isolation Lagers. Today, two of them, Gangloffsömmern and Zella-Mehlis are history.
Let's send this out as a signal to the struggling refugees in Möhlau, Remscheid, Velbert, Meinersen, Fallersleben, Bramsche, Sinsheim or Deggendorf and especially to the protest camps in Würzburg, Aub, Bamberg, Regensburg, Osnabrück and Düsseldorf: In solidarity we will succeed.
