Today (31st of May 2017) another mass deportation to Afghanistan was to take place from Frankfurt. But the depoertation did not take place (so far). The official reason for not going was not the safety of the deportees, but to avoid extra stress from the German embassy staff.
Just before the staring of the plane a massive bomb attack took place right in front of the Embassy in Kabul, killing 90 Afghan civilians and an Afghan guard of the German Embassy, injouring some of its staff and causing damage to the building. Officially German authorities regard Afghanistan as save as it ever was, but the German embassy staff is currenty under stress.

But the good news in all theese bad things happening is a very couragious action by students in Nuremberg trying to stop the deportation of one of their fellows to Afghanistan.
