The ‘Alliance Shut Down Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße’ of inhabitants from the camp and supporters in solidarity calls for the demonstration. Demonstration: Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 5 pm, meeting point Bremen Hauptbahnhof
The camp at Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße is located in a remote location next to the steelworks in Oslebshausen. The living conditions are catastrophic: 90 young people live crammed together in a large metal tent without privacy, the ventilation system is loud and dries out the air, and in the summer the tents become unbearably warm.
"Where they put us, they would not even accommodate their beloved dogs."
Almost all of the young people living there are not recognized as minors by the authorities and have filed a complaint against this decision. Despite massive criticism and attempts to close the camp, the Social Welfare Authority is holding onto it.
"I am a human. I have the right not to live on Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße."
The impression arises that the accommodation in the Gottlieb-Daimler-Straße is a punishment. The young people live there five, six, sometimes even more than 12 months, are not allowed to go to school, have no activities and life seems meaningless.
Go with us on the street, let's close the camp.
