The covering of the 18 drainage canals are open in Maxmur Refugee Camp and
this situation invites a lot of disesase. The authorities from Municipality
of Maxmur, who were started cleaning and disinfection workings, defined that
they are deficient in this matter and invited UN and Federal Region
Government for help.
With the warming of weather, in Maxmur Refugee Camp, in which 12 thousand
Kurdish Refugee live, ecological pollution continues to affect the life
negatively. Ali Eruhi, who is the member of Maxmur Mucipality and also
responsible from infrastructure, said that; "The extreme warms and
ecological pollution cause seriously health problems. Especially children
affect from this situation". Eruhi, who defined that they execute the
pollution workings with their own possibilities said, "But we are
deficient". Eruhi, who said that they can not provide the necessities of the
camp, despite they make disinfection, but the materials are limited because
of it becomes bigger, talked like this; "We, the municipality, make
disinfection workings by our possibilities in one time for a year. We made a
general disinfection in May. But this disinfection has to be done
continuously. For this, we made some enterprises. To these enterprises, a
serious answer hadn't been given".
Eruhi, who attracted attention that the 18 drainage canals of the camp are
not sufficient but despite cleaning workings the coverings of the canals are
open, made an invitation:
"The coverings of present canals are open. Our children play outside. The
canals pass through in front of our houses. This will happen serious healt
problems by the warning of weather. We made some applies to the authorities
of United Nation (UN), Federal Region Government and Qandil Aid Association.
But they don't give a serious answer. We accept from them to make necessary
help
