A court in Istanbul decided yesterday to stop publication and distribution
of a Kurdish newspaper for 15 days in an ongoing investigation into certain
news articles and commentaries.
According to court, 13 articles have been published that contain Statements
of PKK leaders and Kongra-Gel.
The court said in its decision that the newspaper abused the freedom of
expression and spread terrorist propaganda.
Women constitute to half the population of our country, unfortunately they only represent 4.36 percent of the parliament and only 1 percent in local municipals. Due to the male dominancy in the political field it makes it difficult for women to participate and be represented. It is quite clear that not having the representation of women in politics is by all means is a deficient democracy. The cases of journalists charged with "propaganda" and prosecuted at

Courts under recent amendments made to Turkey's Anti-Terror Law.
